YouTube Plays 3 Billion Videos a Day

and Serves the Most Unique Viewers

Roughly three billion people now watch at least one YouTube video each day – this is for an online video sharing platform that turns all but six years old this month.
“That’s the equivalent of nearly half the world’s population watching a YouTube video each day, or every U.S. resident watching at least nine videos a day,” YouTube says.
Incredibly, however, daily views have spiked some 50% from just one year ago. And if that’s not enough to make your head explode, try this one on for size. YouTube says 48 hours of video content is uploaded every minute!

Robin Wauters of TechCrunch says that YouTube is enjoying such stellar growth for three primary reasons: “an increase in live streaming events, longer upload times and also faster upload processing times.”

Stan Davis of Exposure Elements, a Northern California property marketing and mobile services company says, "YouTube's growth can be partially attributed to the explosion of internet enabled phones. As a dedicated icon on many of the top mobile "smartphones" this placement facilitates an extensive use of YouTube to familiarize end viewers with specific business establishments or residential properties for sale." He goes on to say "YouTube has become an essential marketing tool for any product or service for sale. The buying public now realizes this and tunes into YouTube for research on any purchase.
